Shams al-Ma'rif al-Kubra, or Shams al-Ma'rif and Lataif al-'Awarif, is a manuscript - a book of magic works related to the jinn. Its authorship is attributed to Ahmed bin Ali al-Buni, who died in the year 622 AH. It is forbidden for Muslims to read it, and it has been printed recently with some of its topics deleted and distorted, but the book still deals with many unclear matters of magic, and the first part of it, which consists of 577 pages, was printed in the Popular Library in Beirut in 1985. In addition to containing four letters At its end, written by Abd al-Qadir al-Husseini al-Adhami, they are, in order: Mizan al-Adl fi Maqasid al-Ahkam al-Raml, Fatih al-Ragha`ib fi the Specificities of the Planets, Zuhr al-Muruj fi the Signs of the Zodiac, and Lataif al-Ishara fi the Characteristics of the Beginning of the Book of Shams al-Ma’rif al-Kubra, which relates to jinn and magic.
