We know that your dog’s physical health and wellbeing is your priority at all times, the Furryfitness app is there to support you and to provide you with valuable information. It enables you to monitor their fitness, their weight and also has a valuable reminder tool. Download the app, grab your dog and phone and take both for a walk!

Monitoring your pets exercise has never been easier than with Furryfitness. Simply tap on the ‘Walkies’ button and if you have multiple pets, select who is going on the walk so that their fitness data is accurate and you are ready to track your walk. Furryfitness takes care of the rest: It shows you the exact distance, the steps taken, the duration of your walk and how much this walk has counted towards your daily target.

Steps taken

The 'steps taken' and 'distance travelled' will be based on the steps taken on the user’s device. The steps taken will therefore be indicative and not wholly accurate for the steps taken by the pet.

Calories

The Furryfitness app calculates 0.8 calorie burned per pound per mile. Furryfitness is converting the pet’s weight into pounds and the walk distance into miles before calculating the calories burned.

Activity/steps goal

The steps goal is calculated as follows: 100 steps per exercise goal minute so for a breed of dog that recommends 60 minutes of exercise and where the Furryfitness user has accepted that exercise goal in the pet profile, the goal will be 6000 steps (60 x 100).

Location permission

The Furryfitness app needs the location access permission enabled so that we can accurately track your walk even when the app is in the background while you are on a walk with your pet.

Camera permission

The Furryfitness app needs access to your camera on your phone to allow you to take a photo to set as a profile picture for both yourself and your pet. The photo will only be stored on your device and not uploaded to any server.

Photo gallery permission

The Furryfitness app needs access to the gallery on your phone to allow you to set as a profile picture for both yourself and your pet using photos already stored on your device and held in your photo gallery. The photo will only be stored on your device and not uploaded to any server.
