Kanianka

Kanianka is a village in Slovakia in the Prievidza district. The village lies on the western edge of the Prievidzská basin, which is part of the Hornonitrian basin, to the west rises Malá Magura, belonging to the Strážovské vrchy. The Kanianka stream flows through the southern part of the village, on which a reservoir of the same name is built behind the village. The village is accessible by roads III. class through Bojnice, or Nedožery-Brezany. Prievidza is 8 km to the south, Nováky is 13 km in the same direction, the regional capital is 73 km to the west. The Maguranka brass band, which was founded in 1950, operates in the village.
