An Introduction to Ayurveda

Ayurveda is a Sanskrit word, derived from two roots: ayur, which means life, and veda, knowledge. Knowledge arranged systematically with logic becomes science. During the due course of time, Ayurveda became the science of life. It has its root in ancient vedic literature and encompasses our entire life, the body, mind and spirit.

Traditional systems of medicine like Ayurveda have become popular in recent years. In India such systems have long being in existence and studies scientifically and codified, with written texts that have been preserved through the ages. Of the many systems Ayurveda is perhaps the best known most widely prevalent.
