Commverter

Commverter converts mineral content to metal grade in rock specimens of any type (and vice versa). The app, published by snoWWork (www.snowwork.com), is designed for Geologists, Engineers and other technicians involved in the mineral exploration and mining industries.

To estimate metal grade based on mineral content select the mineral(s) of interest, enter the mineral percentage(s) (follow the prompts if need be) and click the “Calculate grade” button. Two minerals may be selected if they have the same primary ore metal (e.g. bornite and chalcopyrite in the case of Cu).

To estimate mineral content based on metal grade select the mineral(s) of interest, enter the mineral proportion(s), enter the metal grade and click the ‘Calculate mineral percentage(s)” button.

The app is designed mainly around field observation with laboratory data being of secondary importance. As such, it is a field-based tool allowing for first-pass metal grade and ore mineral content determination.
