PCL Printer

Full description

PCL Printer sends pictures, PDF files, and plain text to a network printer that understands PCL6 (PCL XL). The phone builds the print job and sends it straight to the printer on your local network. No computer and no extra print server are required.

Choose a file, check the page, then press Print. You can also share an image, PDF, or text file into PCL Printer from another app.

What you can print

• Photos and other images, including JPEG and PNG

• PDF documents, including files with more than one page

• Plain text files

• A built-in test page, so you can check the printer before printing a file

Page setup

• Paper size: A4 or Letter

• Resolution: 300 or 600 DPI

• Grayscale or color

• Copies

• One-sided printing, or both sides with long-edge or short-edge binding

• Optional compression to keep the job smaller

Images

A page preview shows how the picture sits on the sheet. Set portrait or landscape, fit the whole image or fill the page, and scale it from 25% to 200%.

Printers

Save printers by name, pick one from the list, and mark a default. Add or edit the name, IP address, and port. Search the local network for JetDirect printers. The usual port is 9100.

While a job is running, the screen and the notification show progress. You can cancel the print. If a job fails, the last error stays on the screen until the next successful print.

PCL Printer is for printers that accept PCL6 over the network. It does not use the Android print service or a vendor driver.
