Smart Tricycle Metre

The Smart Tricycle Meter is an Android-based fare calculator application designed for tricycles in Zamboanga City. Fare calculation depends on the number of passengers, length of distance and amount of stand-by time whenever the tricycle is idle during traffic scenarios and brief stops.

In using the application, the passenger should turn on the GPS and the Wi Fi or Mobile data to have an access of network service (Wireless Fidelity or Mobile Data).

The passenger will be asked to input the number of passengers and press ‘START’ button so that the meter will start calculating the fare. A checkbox located above the ‘START’ button is then selected if passenger(s) is entitled of a 20% discount.

Then passenger will be asked to press 'LOCATE' button to detect the passenger's current location. Then press 'GO' button to start fare calculation.

The Smart Tricycle Meter will only end if the passenger will arrives to his or her destination. By clicking the ‘STOP’ button, it will eventually display the total cost of the trip along with the breakdown of the charges.
