That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime (Japanese: 転生したらスライムだった件, Hepburn: Tensei Shitara Suraimu Datta Ken), also known as TenSura (転スラ) or Slime Isekai, is a Japanese fantasy light novel series written by Fuse and illustrated by Mitz Vah about a salaryman who is murdered and reincarnates as a slime with unique powers in a sword and sorcery world.

Between 2013 and 2016, it was serialized on the user-generated novel publishing platform Shsetsuka ni Nar. Micro Magazine bought it and released the first light novel volume in 2014. As of March 2021, seventeen volumes have been released. Yen Press has licensed the light novel in North America, and the first volume was published in December 2017. It was adapted into a manga series by Kodansha, as well as three manga spin-offs by Micro Magazine and Kodansha, and an anime television series adaptation by Eight Bit, which ran from October 2018 to March 2019.

The main protagonist of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime is Rimuru Tempest (リムル゠テンペスト), previously known as Satoru Mikami.

Rimuru is the creator and King of the Jura Tempest Federation in Jura Forest, and is the partner and best friend of the True Dragon Veldora Tempest. He is one of the Octagram's Demon Lords. He resides in Rimuru Town, the Jura Tempest Federation's capital.

Rimuru starts off as a blue-bodied Slime, but when he transforms into a Demon Slime, his body turns metallic with gold stripes.

Since he is an androgynous slime, everything he mimics takes on an androgynous shape while also carrying striking resemblances to the actual species.

His mass increased with time, enabling him to accommodate greater mimicry types without the need for additional magic to compensate.
