What is Ransomware?

Ransomware in general and the Wanna Cry virus in particular are a form of network attack involving hackers gaining control of the computer, leaving the user unreachable until the ransom is paid. Also because of this feature, ransomware is often called as extortion. Hackers simply want to make money from the victim without having any other reason.
