Areal Sweep Efficiency Calc computes the fraction of the reservoir area contacted (swept) by the displacing fluid.

Areal Sweep Efficiency Calc is developed primarily to offer assistance to petroleum engineers, reservoir engineers, petrophysicists, researchers, petroleum production engineers, completion engineers, students (undergraduates, postgraduates, etc.), and other oil and gas professionals compute the areal sweep efficiency at breakthrough and after cumulative injection using the mathematical correlations (analytical methods) proposed by Willwhite, Dyes et al., which closely approximates the graphical method.

There are several flooding patterns used commonly in the oil & gas industry.These regular flood pattern include: Direct line drive, staggered line drive, five spot, seven spot, nine spot.

By far the most used pattern is the five spot.

These flood patterns are generally designed to improve areal sweep efficiency.

Input parameters for Areal Sweep Efficiency Calc include: Mobility ratio, cumulative water injected at anytime after breakthrough (Winj), and cumulative water injected at breakthrough (Wibt).
