Asha Facilitator (MP)

ASHA Facilitator gets incentives for her activities related to monitoring and supervision of a cluster of ASHAs. She also handholds the activities of ASHA(Accredited Social Health Activist) workers and therefore is in direct touch with the frontline ASHA workers. Providing supportive supervision is the main role of ASHA Facilitator to strengthen, monitor and facilitate ASHAs to improve the implementation of activities under NRHM.

The ASHA Facilitator serves as the link between the ASHA and first administrative unit of the Health Department which is at the Block level.

Each ASHA Facilitator usually support the activities of approximately 15 ASHAs covering one/two/three sub-centres. For hilly areas and hard to reach areas one ASHA Facilitator may be selected against approximately 10 ASHAs. This is indicative, but number of ASHA facilitator is subject to change on the basis of total number of ASHAs and geographical scenario of locality.
