Darbar i Akbari aur Drama of Akbar is written by Mohammed Hussain Azad who was a successful Urdu poet particularly in the historical writings. He was born in Delhi and later moved to Lahore where he taught Arabic at Government College and became a professor of Urdu and Persian at Oriental College. Talking about Darbar i Akbari, Abul Fazal has given a vivid account of Akbar's Darbar. It goes like whenever Akbar the great holds court large drums were beaten to announce the holding of diwan-e-aam and praises the emperor as insan i kamil. Those who were present in the court including the emperor's sons, grandchildren and grandees take the position according to their status, proximity and hierarchy to the king. Learned men, officers of justice and mechanics were also present to give their reports, reviews or updates while entertainers like singers and wrestlers also waited to exhibit their skills.

-Malik Mohammad Jayasi is famously known for Padmaavat, a poem describing the story of Alauddin Khilji's historical siege in Chittor 1303. Alauddin attacked the fort of Chittor and fought with the king Ratansen after hearing the beauty of Queen Padmavati.

-Abul Fazal is famously known for Akbarnama and Ain i Akbari. The book is titled as Akbarnama and talks about Akbar's ancestors and the events that happened during Akbar's reign while the third volume known as Ain i Akbari deals with Akbar's household administration revenues etc.

-Amir khusro was a famous Indian Sufi singer scholar and poet under the Delhi sultanate. He was a disciple of Nizamuddin auliya. He wrote many forms of ghazals, qata, masnavi and rubai etc.
