Don't Kill the Bees - TDS

“Don’t Kill the Bees” is a single player, reverse shooter gameplay mechanics from a hybrid third person shooter / top down shooter view, but with a major twist. Instead of shooting all the bad guys like most third person shooters are set up for, your goal is to not hit any of the friendly bees. Your weapon will fire non-stop, quite literally spray and pray, and your goal is to not point it in the direction of any friendly yellow bees as the bees continue to spawn on the map. This game is a hyper casual shooter or shooting game.

You’ll need to collect honey combs to increase your score. As your score increases more dangerous bees will also begin to spawn. Your score will then be added to a leaderboard if you log into Google Play Game services. The top scores will be available for everyone else to try to beat.

The idea for the game was inspired by the developer’s grandmother. She used to stop bees from stinging us as kids by slapping them with her bare hands. On an online forum, when retelling those fond memories of my grandma, another forum member began lecturing the me on how his grandma was destroying the environment and how his grandma should have let her grandkids get stung for the greater good. Thus the absurd but hilarious premise for this game was born.

The game features beautiful art and a beautiful soundtrack to give the game a light hearted and casual feel which adds to the hilariously absurd premise.

The game is easy to play with an intuitive single joystick touch design but still extremely challenging as the goal is to not hit enemies that are constantly spawning while meeting different objectives.

You lose the game if you kill a friendly bee, or if one of the angry bees kills you.

Power ups are available if a user watches a rewarded ad. Power ups include faster movement speed, a slower fire rate for your weapon, and a shield that gives you invisibility for 3 seconds after being hit.

In addition to the leaderboards, Achievements are also enabled. The game features 11 unlockable achievements to help you boost your gamer score.
