Fair Fashion?

Are there living wages in the global garment industry? Do H&M, Zara, Marks & Spencer, Nike and Adidas make sure workers are paid living wages?

The Clean Clothes Campaign conducted a survey in 2013, with the aim of providing greater transparency for consumers on this issue. More than 140 fashion brands were analyzed and are now brought to you as an app, which was realized by the Swiss Clean Clothes Campaign, the Berne Declaration.

A living wage is a human right. Yet the scandalous truth is that the majority of workers in the global fashion industry cannot afford to live with dignity, and earn no more than €6 a day in an industry worth over €34 billion across Europe. The Clean Clothes Campaign believes that no company can truly claim to be working ethically if the people who produce its clothes are paid less than a living wage.
