Since, many patients and consumers have used their smartphone to access health information and look for healthcare services we propose a mobile application that, exploiting the camera of a smartphone, helps the user in the process of food intake annotation. By pointing a mobile phone camera toward food, the users can receive the classification of the current meal. The proposed food recognition is achieved using modern computer vision methodologies such as Convolution Neural Network (CNN).
