Godaan - Premchand

Godaan, a narrative of stark realism, is Premchand's most outstanding novel. Hori is an immortal character emblematic of the peasantry of this nation.

It is regarded as among the best Hindustani novels of contemporary Indian literature and was printed in 1936. Themed round the socio economic loss in addition to the exploitation of the hamlet poor, the novel was Premchand's last complete novel.
