Image To FTP

This is a basic app. Be aware - there is no input field checking on the settings page. So be sure about what you enter or please don't complain about the app crashing after wrong entries. All fields on the settings page need to be filled in as shown in the screen shot. I check for that. The host can be an IP address or a domain name.

The scale factor is the factor by which the camera image is reduced prior to saving on your phone / uploading. This should help to cut down on network usage. Set it to 1 if you don't want to scale your pictures. Only the scaled pictures are stored not the original picture size. Files are named in the format YYMMDDHHMMSS.jpg.

The app has a whopping three buttons:

"Shoot and Upload" - you take a picture an it is uploaded right away

"Shoot" - you take a picture which is stored in the ImageToFTP folder on your phone

"Upload" - all the pictures from the ImageToFTP folder are uploaded

If the upload during the "Shoot and Upload" fails, the picture remains on your phone and can be uploaded later using "Upload".

Once the pictures are uploaded they are deleted from your android device. So with the "Shoot and Upload" you can take pictures without an obvious trace on your phone as long as you have internet connection.
