Do you know the history of the Taj Mahal? . Its name comes from Hindi and means Crown Palace. It is a complex of buildings built between 1631 and 1648 in the city of Agra, Uttar Pradesh state (India), on the banks of the Yamuna River, by the Muslim emperor Shah Jahan of the Mughal dynasty.

The imposing ensemble was erected in honor of his favorite wife, Arjumand Bano Begum - better known as Mumtaz Mahal - who died in childbirth with their fourteenth daughter.

It is estimated that its construction required the effort of some 20,000 workers.

Anyone could say that it is an exaggerated manifestation of his love for his wife, but surely Lord Shah Jahan would not agree. And thanks to this and his love, today we can enjoy this wonder, considered one of the greatest architectural wonders in the world.
