Crucible of Justice - The Latest Chapter
The September 2024 update, dubbed as Crucible of Justice, brings Diablo Immortal, loaded with new experiences and content for players. This feature-laden update introduces the next chapter in the main storyline, new opportunities for team play, time-limited events, potent items, and fresh challenges which will be elaborated on here.
Crucible of Justice Main Quest
The narrative of Diablo Immortal continues with the Crucible of Justice. Once you reach Paragon level 30 and finish the Southern Dreadlands questline, this chapter becomes available. As the Worldstone shatters, you find your character unable to use the El’druin sword, once held by archangel Tyrael. To halt the spread of evil, a journey to the Cold Isles, the home turf of the Tempests, becomes a necessity.
Vanguard - The New Cooperative Mode
The update brings a new team play mode - the Vanguard mode. A maximum of four players can team together to battle foes in up to 5 missions. Set in the backdrop of Lidwinter Woods, the missions include various objectives like ushering a Guardian Spirit, defeating a Helliquary Boss, or halting a demon invasion. Five difficulty levels are available with certain objectives only playable at higher levels.
The Vanguard mode also offers Vanguard skills, offering unique enhancements to combat performance. The skills fall under four categories: Might, Bane, Defense, and Heal. On completion of Vanguard runs, players will gain Vanguard Charms, which can be used to augment these skills. The charms can be upgraded through playing or broken down into shards to strengthen other charms.
Newcomers: Legendary Gems & Helliquary Affixes
Three new legendary gems, namely Wulfheort, Cold Confidant, and Entropic Well are introduced with the update.
Wulfheort, the five-star gem, boosts offensive power with stacking damage along with increased attacking speed. The two-star gem, Cold Confidant, crafts an ice pillar to chill and deal damage to enemies and the one-star gem, Entropic Well, enhances skill damage and attack speed.
For those seeking the top-tier gem, there's some good news. From September 11 to October 2, 2024, you can adjust the drop table to raise the odds of obtaining Wulfheort.
Moreover, new Helliquary Affixes are introduced which grants powers similar to boss-like attributes. These affixes can be found on off-hand and main-hand items and can activate powerful effects like Twofold Barrage, Deluge Maelstrom, and Flame-spun Eruption.
Festival of the Ancient Moon - The Limited Time Event
Running from September 13 to September 27, 2024, the Festival of the Ancient Moon is a time-limited event in celebration of the Mid-Autumn Festival. Participating in daily and weekly tasks can yield rewards like Runes, Aspirant’s Keys, Legendary Items, and more. Completing these tasks also unlocks items like Telluric Pearls, Set Items, and rare rewards from Iben Fahd’s Sanctum.
