Pet Town (NSW)

Victor and Victoria's Pet Town is a fun and engaging learning tool designed to assist children in grade levels P-2 in responsible pet ownership and dog safety.

Explore Pet Town, try the activities and earn rewards for Victor along the way. Collect them all and you will gain access to the Pet Club where you can download printable stickers, colouring sheets, music and a whole lot more!

Victor and Victoria’s Pet Town was produced by the NSW State Government to help young children learn about responsible pet ownership and living safely with dogs.

This educational program is designed to support the New South Wales Government’s Responsible Pet Ownership Program for children in grade levels K-2. The program is supported by comprehensive Parent’s and Teacher’s sections which incorporate extensive curriculum materials and are supported by a range of engaging student resources.

The Program's primary focus is on teaching students about dog safety including:

★ When dogs should be left alone

★ Things we should not do to dogs

★ How can you tell if a dog is happy, frightened or angry

★ A safe way to approach and greet a dog

★ What to do if approached by an unknown or aggressive dog.

The program also introduces and develops the following concepts:

★ Choosing an appropriate pet

★ General welfare and husbandry

★ The importance of identification and registration

★Confinement and housing

★ Exercise and training
