Physics Accelerometer Lab

Physics Accelerometer Lab allows you to take control of the accelerometer and gyroscope present in your phone and save data they output. Made with graphical elements resembling real accelerometers, PAL is a great way to learn how physics work in our everyday life. It is especially useful for physics teachers in high schools, as it is a great tool to explain acceleration, velocity, and position to students!

Start up PAL, and when you are ready, start recording data! Graphs are drawn in real time, showing you acceleration with gravity and net acceleration! Graphical accelerometers also show acceleration changes live, like real accelerometers would! And, if your device is capable of doing so, a 3D version of your phone is displayed, showing device rotation in real time using the gyroscope!

PAL also allows you to save the data you recorded to your device. You can then view the data again, or export it to comma-separated values (CSV) format to a cloud-based service or through your email for use in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, or OpenOffice Calc! You can then, on your computer, create graphs and other visual elements to further analyze the data you collected!
