This dish is popular in Indonesia and other Southeast Asian countries, such as Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, Philippines, and Thailand. In 2011, rendang was crowned as the best dish that ranked first in the list of World's 50 Most Delicious Foods in CNN Travel International news version and the news was re-reformatted and re-published in 2017 and returned rendang successfully ranked first.
