Little Skeletons (Esqueletitos)

ESQUELETITOS/SKELETITOS brings to life the story of 12 skeletons as they go around through the day, counting time and having fun. This app is based on the song Los Esqueletos (Calaveras) Salen de la Tumba. The origin of the song is quite ambiguous and you can find many different interpretations of it through out Latin America and Spain. We present this in both Sing Along and Read Along fun with a Day of the Dead spin featuring black and white fantastical characters (homage to the famous Mexican calavera woodcut prints.)

This app teaches:

Counting & telling time: featuring a clock whose hands mark the time to match each advancing number in our counting story.

Reading: The Read along portion of the book highlights the text as it reads to help early readers learn. There is also a read alone function which allows the child to read at his leisure with the option of getting help if they need it. With each new hour there is a different activity for the Skeletitos to engage in.

Phonics: These rhyme in English and in Spanish with the numbers once again using phonics and reiteration to help kids remember the text.

Music + Rhythm: There is a fantastic phonetic rhythm that happens in the text, brought to life with the song with beautiful character animations.
