Jesus and King David

💧One of the reasons God employs shadows and types in his word is to foretell the future because the Bible is a prophetic book.

💧What has been will be and there's nothing new under the sun.

💧David is the picture of God's amazing grace in the old testament.

💧The focus is not the exploits or the works of David. It's not even about his character because he failed in many things.

💧The focus should always be on Jesus. It doesn't matter which type, twin, parallel or contrast we review.

💧The most central figure in God's word is Jesus and every other person points to him.

💧The Prophets, The law and Psalms all speak of Jesus. This book endeavors to celebrate the great grace under which King David served the Lord.

💧 King Joshia was better than David but God was not judging David on the merits of his works, Psalms, exploits or intelligence.

💧God anointed David before he killed the lion, bear, Goliath or wrote any psalms. It's the anointing that turned David into another man.

💧Without God's spirit, We'll never become like our Lord. The purpose of God's anointing is to transform us into his image.

💧When we see how close David came to resemble the Lord and gave the most prophecies concerning Jesus' first coming, we'll appreciate the role of Grace and anointing more.
