Plate design

Dishes are flat-shaped cutlery and some are concave, where food is served, made of glass, rattan, porcelain, stone, plastic, metal or glass, even those that are increasingly made of melamine. Sometimes wood is also used. There are also dishes that function as decorating the room, usually in the form of plates that are heavily decorated or made from precious metals or precious stones. The plates also have various sizes. For disposable plates, paper or styrofoam materials are usually used. Along with the development of the times, the plate is not only a cutlery. Plates can also be used for other purposes such as souvenirs, placards and promotional media.

In the beginning, people in ancient times ate on leaves or did not even use pedestal. Then in the 15th century, Europeans used hollow wood to put food. Previously they used perforated bread, but hollowed bread could not hold the food for long enough. And finally eating on wood with a curved hole in the middle becomes a habit and is considered better. As time went on, wooden plates were replaced with zinc plates, ceramics and melamine.
