Aardvark Muzzle Velocity

Aardvark Muzzle Velocity app is a simple way to calculate the bullets true muzzle velocity (speed at the muzzle).

This program has two purposes; first calculate the bullets velocity at the muzzle and second estimate the muzzle velocity at a different ammunition temperature.

If you are into reloading or long distance shooting, you will appreciate knowing the bullets velocity at the muzzle. Taking the results and plug them into your favorite ballistic calculator will get a more accurate firing solution. Aardvark Ballistic Calculator app is recommended but most ballistic calculator apps will also let you input a muzzle velocity value. This app actually uses code from Aardvark Ballistic Calculator to simulate the bullets flight between the muzzle and the chronograph, taking into account the atmospheric conditions and the bullets ballistic coefficient to give excellent results. You can move your chronograph further out to avoid muzzle blast hitting the chronograph, or compare results from different days when the weather has changed.
