ADR Biometrics

The AdR Biometrics app is a special project designed to help passengers easily proceed through Rome Fiumicino Airport using SITA Smart Path biometric technology installed at the airport. Today, at its trial introduction, it is suitable for use only by passengers departing via Delta Airlines flights.

With SITA Smart Path, ‘your face is your boarding pass,’ allowing you to proceed through automated gates that open automatically upon recognizing your face, rather than having to queue to scan boarding passes and present travel documents to agents.

Although you still may opt to do so, with the AdR Biometrics app there’s no need to enroll for biometrics at check-in counters or kiosks. Using this app, you simply scan your passport with your mobile phone, and take a selfie to verify a match with the picture in your passport. This automated process deletes all biometric matching data at the airport after the flight departs. However, once set up, your ID and biometric data can remain securely stored on your phone for re-use the next time you fly.
