anydocs

anydocs was made to make opening a simple text file easier, without renaming extensions or searching through multiple apps.

Read txt, log, json, js, html, css, configuration files and files without extensions when their contents are text. Choose a file with Android's file picker, or use compatible file managers and share menus.

View Markdown headings, lists, tables, checklists and code blocks as a document, or switch JSON to an indented view. Search the whole document, move between results, show line numbers, jump to a line, adjust text size and wrapping, select an encoding, and reopen recent files or favorites. File change detection is also included.

Original files are never edited. HTML and JavaScript source files are shown as text, without executing their code. Document contents are not sent to a developer server or included in ad requests. All features are free, with one bottom banner ad. Advertising and consent messages use the internet, but documents remain readable if advertising fails.

This is not a dedicated viewer for Word, Excel, PowerPoint, HWP, PDF, images or archives. Large files and complex Markdown or JSON have processing limits. File-provider permissions and change information may require selecting a file again or refreshing manually. Android 8.0 or later is supported.
