In automotive electronics, the body control module or 'body computer' is a generic term for the electronic control unit responsible for monitoring and controlling various electronic accessories in the vehicle body. Usually in the car, BCM controls the power windows, power mirrors, air conditioners, immobilizer systems, central locking, and others. BCM communicates with other on-board computers via automobile buses, and the main application controls the Relay load driver which in turn carries out the action inside the vehicle such as locking the doors or dimming the lights above the salon.
