Beacon helps you while you are outdoors, by enabling you to share your location in real time with your family and friends.

It features automated alerts sent when you're not moving, in case you are in trouble, and proper battery management. The application is fully configurable, doesn't require anything else than your name, is free and ad free.

It can also help you locate your friends, making it easy to meet up with them.

Many other features are also included.

- disabled Strava integration: their API agreement states that it can't be used for products that compete with theirs.
- removed all of the SMS and phone related permissions: this is due to a play store policy change, which asks developers to stop using them. Some features are now disabled, and you'll have to send notifications manually.
- removed alerts: they were not reliable, and almost not used. They often crashed, and relied heavily on the SMS permissions.
