Exo (Korean: 엑소; often written as EXO) is a South Korean-Chinese K-Pop boy band based in Seoul, with nine members: Suho, Baekhyun, Chanyeol, D.O., Kai, Sehun, Xiumin, Lay, and Chen. The group was formed by SM Entertainment in 2011 and debuted in 2012. Their music includes genres such as pop, hip-hop, and R&B, as well as electronic dance music genres such as house, trap, and synth-pop. The studio albums XOXO (2013), Exodus (2015) and Ex'Act (2016), 'along with the third EP Exo Overdose (2014), won Exo several awards including four consecutive wins each Disc Daesang at the Golden Disc Awards, Album of the Year at the Mnet Asian Music Awards and Daesang award at the Seoul Music Awards.
