ImgToSgf

You can choose an image of a go board in whatever app you like (e.g. a photo just taken with the camera or a screenshot), then tap action "Share" or "Open in" and select "ImgToSgf" from the app chooser menu. This app will then create an sgf file describing the situation on the go board (as set stones).

You may then open this sgf file in another app (e.g. an sgf editor or an AI analysis engine) by tapping "Share" or save it to your internal storage by tapping "Save".

Image processing is implemented by neural networks and is based on the same algorithm as Andreas Hauensteins IOS app "Kifu Cam". All processing is done on the device, so no dependency on a server, no mobile data traffic and no privacy concerns.

The algorithm works best with portrait mode images, so:

1) If you produce an image yourself, that you intend to feed to ImgToSgf (photo or screenshot), please use portrait mode

2) If you have an image in landscape format from somewhere else, please rotate it by 90 degrees before sending it to ImgToSgf (but only if the image does not contain any perspective distorsion of the go board, otherwise keep it as it is and hope for the best)

One last note: The "Share" functionality is implemented via shared storage, so the receiving app needs the "Storage Access" permission. Most sgf handling apps will have this anyway but if your target app has not, you have to grant this permission to it BEFORE sharing. If you don't like to do so, use the "Save" button and open the sgf afterwards via file manager.
