Etymology. In the language of dhikr has the meaning of "calling", "remembering" or "praying", the word dhikr also means memory, study. In the language of Islamic religion dhikr is often defined by calling or remembering God by verbally through thayyibah sentences.

Shape and How to dhikr:

a. Dhikr by heart, that is by way of reflection, thinking about God's creation so that it arises in our mind that Allah is the Essence of the Almighty. All that exists in this universe must have created, that is Allah SWT. By doing this dhikr, one's faith in Allah SWT will increase.

b. Dhikr with oral (utterance), that is by pronouncing lafazh-lafazh which inma contain Allah's asthma that has been taught by the Prophet to his ummah. Examples are: pronouncing tasbih, tahmid, takbir, tahlil, sholawat, reading Al-Qur'an and so on.

c. Dzikir with deeds, that is by doing what God commanded and away from His prohibitions. What must be remembered is that all deeds must be based on intent. The intention of carrying out these deeds is to get the pleasure of Allah SWT. Thus, to study, to earn a living, to stay in touch, and other deeds that are commanded by religion are included in the scope of dhikr with deeds.

"Therefore, remember ye to me I will remember you, and give thanks unto Me, and do not deny me." (Surat al-Baqarah: 152).

According to the language "ad-du'aa" means calling, asking for help, or begging for something. While praying in the sense of the Shari'a is begging something or asking for protection to Allah SWT by humbling themselves and submitting to Him. Prayer is a part of worship and can be done every time and every place, because Allah is always with His servants.
