Samantha Prabhu is an Indian film actress and model who appears in Telugu and Tamil films. Born to Malayali and Telugu parents, Samantha was brought up in Tamil Nadu and pursued a career in modeling during her late teens. Despite signing up to Ravi Varman's Moscowin Kavery in 2007, her first release happened to be the critically acclaimed 2010 Telugu romance film Ye Maaya Chesave (2010) directed by Gautham Menon.

Following this, she made her debut in the Tamil Film Industry with the movie, ‘Vinnaithandi Varuvaaya’, where she played a supporting role. Later, she played the remake of this movie in Telugu as a Lead Actress, where she shared screen space with Naga Chaitanya. She got positive responses for her performance in the movie and was signed up for many movies following this.

She has also appeared in many Tamil movies like, ‘Baana Kaathadi, Moscowin Kavery, Naan E, Neethane en pon vasantham, Anjaan etc’. She has appeared in many Telugu films namely, ‘Eega, Yeto Vellipoyindhi Manasu, Attarintiki Daredi etc’. She has starred in many commercially successful flick and made her stand as one of the successful heroine in both Tamil and Telugu Industry.

She has won many awards like, ‘Nandi Award, Filmfare award, Vijay Award etc’, under the category of Best Actress. She is also a well known philanthropist and donates her modelling salary to her foundation, ‘Pratyusha Support Foundation’.

Off screen, she is involved with a lot of charitable organisations. She has established her own charitable trust called Pratyusha Support in 2012. A large chunk of her earnings, she donates for the underprivileged people of society.
