Technical installation and construction companies often have a large range of expensive tools and equipment that they need to control and make sure are in good operational condition. They also need to be found on a known location every time they are needed.

toolist is the ever evolving app made by Parafernalia, Lda. (makers of comma CMMS) that is designed to make sure that all important equipment is logged as in good operation condition and that the location is known. For that, toolist uses the concept of "audits" and "checks".

"Audits" are user-assignable time-based triggers that will focus on a set percentage of tools to look at on a given location. For example, if there are 50 tools currently assigned to project A, one could start an audit job to look at 10% of the tools on that project on a daily basis. This way, without increasing the daily work load, it is only a matter of time before each item is confirmed on location and in good operational status.

"Checks" are user-assignable time-based triggers that look at user-defined groups of tools for condition and status. For example group all torque wrenches (not matter what project they are used on) to trigger the job request to calibrate them.

"Checks" are currently not available on this pre-release version.

Tips and notes:

1. If you have a large list of tools, go to the web version of toolist (http://toolist.commacmms.com) to import your list from a csv file.

2. Register for an account and then invite your colleagues into your team. Checks and audits (collectively known as "jobs") can then be assigned to them.
