Axie Infinity is a game about breeding, growing, and battling cute creatures known as Axies. NFTs are used to purchase axies and virtual real estate (Lands) through an in-game marketplace. The majority of transactions take place on Ronin, a fast, customized sidechain built by developer Sky Mavis to have lower fees than the main Ethereum blockchain.

Axie Infinity sets itself apart from many different games as it is made to be a play to earn game, with players able to sell stuff (including the Axies they breed, Lands, and other several accessories like barrels or flowers or ) through the game’s NFT marketplace while also collecting tokens generated by the game. The game makes use of two unique coins. Which are Axie Infinity Shards (AXS) and Smooth Love Potion (SLP).

Both tokens are used in the interaction and process in-game such as land acquiring, upgrading and most importantly breeding. Axies and eggs in themselves can also be sold to other people with Ethereum as its trade of currency. Players can view the current value of AXS and SLP on Coingecko.com.
