the breath-taking view of skogafoss waterfall and scenic surroundings and the snow-capped heights of two towering glaciers are skogar's major summer attractions. it is just stunning standing next to it. only a few kilometers away from the south shores of iceland, lies the village of skogar along the southern ring road. one is ytri-skogar and the other eystri-skogar, located at a short distance from each other. skogafoss is one of the biggest waterfalls in iceland, with a drop of 60 meters and a width of 25 meters, and you can walk right up to, but be prepared to be drenched. skógafoss waterfall has been my all time favourite waterfall in iceland, since I first visited it as a child with my parents. it is a popular summer-resort centre surrounded by unusual scenic beauty. there are two settlements by this name.
