The Australian Road Rules

The Australian Road Rules are made up of Parts 1 to 21, Schedules 1 to 4,

and the Dictionary. The cover of this publication, the title page, this page,

the foreword and the Reader’s Guide are not part of the Rules.

The Reader’s Guide

As provided by rule 9 of the Rules, the Reader’s Guide published with the

Rules does not form part of the Rules. It is intended to help readers

understand the operation and structure of the Rules.

Permission to reproduce

The Australian Road Rules may be reproduced or used as long as the

National Transport Commission is acknowledged as the source.

Acknowledgment is not required if the reproduction or use is by or on behalf

of an Australian government or a public authority
