Barceló is the first company in the rum industry in the world that complies with all environmental protection standards, which has made it worthy to acquire a carbon neutral status under the Bilan Carbone® license.

The company has implemented various measures to reduce its emissions, these include the use of renewable energy, notably solar and biomass, as well as the reuse and recycling of organic and inorganic process waste.

The emissions that cannot be reduced are neutralized via a compensation program. This has been possible thanks to the acquisition of carbon credits from international projects.
