But Niantic has designed gyms to be difficult to defend to prevent players with more time, dominating players with less time. Luckily, some hardcore players come from all around the world made a lot of analysis of which they think will prove to be the most powerful Pokemon based on their types and move combinations.

Based on thousands of fans’ findings, we developed the fighting guide app named Poke Attack, which searches in our database, then promotes the best Pokemon.

1.How Poke Attack works.

Select a defender you want to attack in battles, Poke Attack will search across all combinations and moves of all Pokemon to find the best attackers and worst attackers. Possible options to choose are shown in two tables. The first table shows the 25 best Pokemon to attack with. The second table shows the 10 worst. All Pokemon are rated best to worst using the”Score”. The score factors in both how hard your Attack will hit the defender and how hard they will hit back.

2.What is Score?

Score = Atk + Def

The Atk score is driven by the base Atk Power listed in Pokemon Stats. This base power is then scaled up by a weighted attack scalar:

Atk = Base Atk * [(4 * Move 1 Scalar) + (Move 2 Scalar)]

The scalars for Move 1 and Move 2 start at one and increase with Stab (Same type attack bonus) and vary further based on the Pokemon Go type table and the type advantage/disadvantage between the Attack and defender. The Fast move is weighted more heavily to account for its higher use.

Def = Base Def * ( 1.57 - Expected Defence Scalar)

The defence score is the Pokemon's base defence score scaled by the inverse of a Defence scalar that ranges between 0 and 1.57. This scalar is calculated by taking all the known moves of the defending Pokemon and comparing them to type table. The less likely the attacking Pokemon is to be damaged by the defender, the higher their Def score will be.

3.What information can you get in the detail page?

Except for recommendation of best Pokemon, we also provide other information like Pokemon names, Pokemon moves and index. It can help players find the most powerful Pokemon in their own list.

Pokédex data: National No, Type, Species, Height, Weight, Abilities,

Base stats: HP, Defense, S. Atk, S.Def, Speed, Total

Training: EV yield, Catch rate,Base Happiness,Base EXP,Growth Rate

Breeding: Egg Groups, Gender, Egg cycles

Pokemon location: Where to find Bulbasaur for each generation.
