iAmharic Cal

Our application has both the Ethiopian calendar (Ge’ez calendar) and Western calendar side by side; both in English and in Amharic (please see the screenshot below). Our application:

- Allows adding events to calendar

- Lists Holidays up until June 2016

- Gives option to use your favorite tunes, customized recorded voice, etc...as an Alert

- Allows tailoring background picture from personal photo album, app's gallery, or even capturing directly through camera.

-Allows changing color of the Ethiopian alphabet, for both holidays and/or regular days.

To make it user friendly, the application is designed with a help section that lists out the amharic (Ethiopian) numbers and months and translates them into English. In short, this application was designed for both users who are familiar with Amharic and users who are non-native.This application is designed to be user friendly and can be used by anyone who would like to have the calendar that was also used by historical figures like RasTeferi.
