Sign language is a medium of communication for the deaf and speechless. Sign language can also make the brain more active and help develop interaction, social maturity, and cognitive development.

Deaf or deaf, use different means of communication, including sign language, hearing aids, written language. Sign language is a visual language that uses body language, such as hand movements, facial expressions, and body movements.

Like every language, sign language differs from country to country. Some developed countries such as the United States, United Kingdom and France have their own sign language guidelines.

In Indonesia, two sign language instructions have been used, namely Indonesian Sign Language (BISINDO) and the Indonesian Sign Language System (SIBI). The fundamental difference between SIBI and BISINDO is that SIBI uses the alphabet as a practical signature guide, while BISINDO uses both hand gestures to communicate between sign language users. BISINDO is an American sign language adaptation, with several variations that apply in each region.
