Set notification priority level. The higher the priority level, the higher the notification will be in the list.

To hide the status bar icon, set the priority level to "Min" and (for Android 5.0+) turn "Priority" OFF under device Settings > Sound & notification > App notifications > Volume in Notification > Priority.
