Tagging your YouTube videos properly is one of the first and most basic things you can do to direct traffic to those videos.

Tags and description plays an important role in ranking our youtube videos.

YouTube is the Internet’s second largest search engine and tags are among the ranking factors. When users type keywords related to your tags your video will appear in their search results.

When it comes time to tag your own videos, it can be difficult to think up many descriptive tags to add. One relatively easy and effective technique used to be to check your competitor’s tags; however, recently YouTube has hidden these tags. Since this strategy is no longer easy, I’ve created a tag generator for YouTube that helps with this process.

There are two ways to use the tag generator. The first is to check the tags of a specific YouTube video by entering the URL. The second (and more useful in my opinion) will generate popular YouTube tags for your specific keyword. Just enter a keyword related to your video and see what your competitors are using most often for their videos!
