  • Links between notes reach the whole folder: ../ goes up, paths from the folder's top level work, and [[Name]] finds a note anywhere in it.
  • Opening a file from your file manager goes straight to the file, with no ad or welcome screens.
  • Unsaved changes are never lost when another file opens: Save, Discard or Cancel.
  • Notes kept only inside the app are shown on Home, with one tap to move them to a folder you can see.

  • Privacy: analytics no longer receives file names, only the file type. With Pro, ads are no longer loaded at all.
  • Links between notes now work: relative links and [[WikiLinks]] open in the app, PDFs open in your viewer, and Back returns to the previous note.
  • My folder: pick one folder for your notes and browse it from Home.
  • Import HTML pages as Markdown; cleaner PDF import.
  • Keyboard arrow keys move the cursor.
  • mdvedit only offers to open Markdown, PDF and HTML files.

Fixed: the Pro purchase screen could get cut off with no way to scroll on devices using a larger Android display (Screen Zoom) setting.
New: choose your default view (Edit, Split, or Preview) in Settings.
New: search now works in Preview mode too, not just Edit.

Typing stays responsive in long documents. The editor now lays out only the lines on screen, so a keystroke costs the same in a 300 KB file as in a short note — including Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Hindi text, and files that are one very long line.

Undo right after opening a file no longer empties it. Keyboard shortcuts (copy, paste, undo, move by word) work on tablets and Chromebooks. Line numbers follow wrapped lines.

Light editor themes with a genuinely white page. "Paper" is free, and "GitHub Light" joins the Pro set. Every light theme is now marked as one in the theme picker, so you can spot them without tapping each in turn.

The existing light themes were hard to read, and now they are not: bold text, headings, links and comments have all been darkened until they meet the standard contrast level. Line numbers in GitHub Dark were nearly invisible and have been fixed too.

Smoother typing in large documents — the editor does less work on every keystroke, especially in Arabic, Hebrew, Persian and Urdu.

Better right-to-left detection: Syriac, Thaana and Arabic Extended-A now render in the correct direction.

If you enjoy the app, you may see a quick rating prompt after you've been using it for a while. It never interrupts you twice, and you can always dismiss it.

Editing long documents is smoother. The live preview was parsing your document twice on every update, which could freeze the app while you typed; that work is gone. Very large files, and files that are one long line, now open without stalling.

Export is clearer too: before you export, the sheet now shows how many free exports you have left and states that free PDF and HTML exports carry a small "Made with Markdown Editor" footer. Word export has no footer.

Fixed: no ad-consent screen in front of a new install. The app opens straight into the editor, and if your region requires a consent choice it is asked later — never before you have used the app. You can change or withdraw that choice any time in Settings > Ad Privacy Choices.

  Fixed: in-page links.

  • Links to headings that contain punctuation — "Setup & Config", "Data / EDA", "Step 1: Start" — now jump instead of doing nothing
  • "Back to top" links that use an HTML anchor marker now work
  • Links to headings in Japanese, Chinese, Arabic, Russian and accented text now work
  • Anchor markers no longer appear as raw HTML in the preview
  • Insert Table of Contents now matches GitHub exactly
