The Miss Korea Pageant sponsored by the Hankook Ilbo is the greatest and biggest beauty festival in Korea.

In May 1957, the first pageant held at Myeongdong Municipal Theater in Seoul provided a place for festivals for the people in a time of spiritual deprivation and lack of sight after the war.
