Never Far

NeverFar is an app that allows its users to never be far removed from the things or even people they find most important. The app allows you to configure generally available generic bluetooth iBeacons to sound and show an alert on your smartphone or tablet when it gets farther away from you than the distance in meters you specify. By putting a beacon in for instance your bag or suitcase this helps you keep track of them when you are travelling. You could also for instance put the iBeacons in the pockets of your small childrens' coats when you visit a mall or theme park to make sure they stay close to you.

The generic BLE iBeacons needed to work in conjunction with this app are generally available on the web. E.g. from http://bestbuybeacons.com.

iBeacons and therefore this are can be used on any android device with BLE 4.0 hardware and Android 4.3 or higher.
