Eid Mubarak or (Arabic: عيد مبارك) is an Arabic term that means “Blessed feast/festival'”. The term is used by Arab Muslims, as well as Muslims all over the world. Internationally Muslims use it as a greeting for use on the feast. In the social sense, people usually celebrate Eid al-Fitr after Ramadan and Eid al-Adha in the month of Dhul Hijjah (the 12th and final Islamic month). Some state that this exchange of greetings is a cultural tradition and not part of any religious obligation.

When is Eid al-Adha?

Eid lasts for a period of three days – starting on the 10th day of the holy month of Dhul Hijjah. This year, it is expected to fall on Saturday 9th July 2022 (dependent on moon sightings).

As Islam follows a lunar calendar, this date will vary each year.

Eid-ul-Adha, which is also known as Bakrid or Eid Qurban is one of the most important Muslim festivals across the world. This festival which is also coined as ‘feast of the sacrifice’, is observed on the tenth day of Dhu al-Hijjah, which is the twelfth month according to the Islamic calendar. Eid-ul-Adha is one of the two most prominent Islamic festivals celebrated around the globe, the first one being Eid-Al-Fitr, which is also known as Ramadan Eid , This Eid will bring you peace, prosperity, and tranquility.
