Saint Fight Seiya Omega Battle

The storyline of Omega takes place 25 years after the Holy Wars of the 20th century narrated in the original manga and its anime adaptation. The goddess Athena is still on Earth after reincarnating to continue her duty of protecting peace against several antagonistic deities. Athena and a new generation of Saints prepare to face new threats that lurks in this new era, in which Pegasus Seiya, the protagonist of Kurumada's manga, is revered as a Saint of legend and one of Athena's Gold Saints.

As a fan, I’ve dipped my toes into the Saint Seiya franchise over the years, but I’ve never really followed it too closely. With this show being a reboot, I figured this was be a good place to jump in.

The show starts after the events of the original Saint Seiya series as the Goddess Athena watches over and heals the world. At the start over the series, she is shown taking care of baby Kohga when she is attacked by Mars. She is saved by the hero of the first series, Seiya. This memory has become ingrained into Kohga and he has since been trained to become a Saint in order to protect Athena.

Saint Seiya Omega is certainly a nice show to look at. Crisp, clean visuals with a character design that mixes modern ans the classic look at the older adaptations. There is plenty of hair, it floats around in nice ways and Kohga can look a bit girly as times. The animation is nothing to write home about, but I was amused when planet altering powers get thrown around a bit. Finally, the characters are inoffensive, but Kohga can be a whiner.
