SCP iKnow Cityzen

Children will soon find learning about child rights and participation fun and creative with the CityZen mobile game app. It is designed for children from 12 to 17 years old, with exciting features and choices for players, including customizing their characters, choosing accessories, costumes, and even hairstyles. Children can also specify their preferred advocacy, such as disability and inclusion, among others, and select to play the game either in a rural or urban environment.

The players take part in the game by accomplishing four missions that are centered on selected child rights issues-- disaster risk reduction and management and emergency preparedness, child protection, solid waste management, and child participation in the community through the Supreme Student Government (SSG) and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK).

The design team comprises governance and disability inclusion experts, game developers, and child rights advocates. They underwent workshops and conducted several consultations to draw out children's inputs on the mobile game's design, features, and content.

Save the Children Philippines developed the CityZen Mobile Game app with children and gaming experts to maximize the benefit of digital platforms to advocate for child rights and governance. It's a fun, educational, and interactive game app that aims to help children understand what governance means, how it is carried out, and how the children can participate meaningfully.
